Location
Marsamxett harbour in a South Westerly direction
from the barge
Carolita
Access
You have two options to this site. Either
swim southwest from
the Carolita barge or simply arrive from Ta Xbiex seafront.
Conditions
Again this is another fairly well sheltered
site but visibility is a
problem
Average depth 20m
The seabed is of indulating fine white silt
and sand composite.
The wreck used to be a steel cargo steamer and lies in a small
valley and is very broken up. This is another vessel which contains
a large area of varied marine life and is worth the visit.
Location
Near the Preluna Hotel in Sliema off the sea water swimming pool club.
Access
You must ensure you obtain permission from
the club first before
diving. Once permission is obtained access is from the left hand
corner of the sea wall.
Conditions
This site is quite exposed but considered
an easy dive and as a
result is perfect for trainee divers.
Average depth 8m
Maximum depth 12m
Average visibility 12m
Upon entrance the reef gently slopes out to the north , with
various shallow undercuts where small fish can be found. You
sadly will not see many large fish but upon exiting the dive you will see
a large natural archway. You can exit by climbing the rickety ladder on the
outer wall of the pool.
Location
You will find this site off the southeastern
point of Delimara past
Marsaxlokk
Access
Again it is recommended you take your boat
to this dive.
Conditions
This site is exposed and can be choppy with
current and it must be
remembered that this dive can only be dived when conditions are near perfect.
Average depth- 12m
Maximum depth 25m
Average visibility-18m
Visibility at this duive area is very often the clearest around the islands.
This site is off the extreme southeast tip. At this point you will find that
the wall drops down to around 12m where you should be able to find a vertical
fissure that drops to the seabed amongst some huge algae covered boulders.
In this area you will be able to see a cave that leads all the way up through
a chimney to the reef top.

Location
You will need to travel 800m due east of xorb
il-Ghajn, off the
sotheast coast. The dive is situated at a depth of 42m
Access
The easiest way is by boat.
Conditions
This site can be choppy at times but in a fairly well sheltered location.
Average depth 42m
Maximum depth 42m
Average visibility beyond 30m
This site is highly recommended. It is unknown
whether the aeroplance was a victim to defence fire or crash landed due to
engine failure. Either way this planeis a great dive site for all keen divers.
You will find both the engine and the wings in tact. although the foresection
of the fuselage has been smashed off and now lies several meters in front
of the main part of the wreckage . Although it must be expressed that this
site is recommended for experienced divers only due to the depth at which
this dive takes place.
The condition of the bomber is also another issue for concern.

Location
Southeast of Zonqor point , at the mouth of Marsascala Harbour
Access
The best way is by boat.
Conditions
Sheltered from the northeast winds
Average depth 21m
Maximum depth 21m
Average visibilty 18m
Both these wrecks are tugboats built in the
1940's The St. Michael
is of Tanac type 20M long and built in Canada while the Number
10 is 16m in length and of Melita type. Zonqor point was chosen as
the site partly on account of its clean, sandy seabed and absence of
possidoniasea grass meadows. The idea was that the wrecks would
act as artifical wrecks. You will find a good variation of marine life.
