This site has been threatened for many years by the nearby port expansion. The site is very easy in diving terms and should be considered before maybe the option is taken away from you in a few years if expansion goes ahead. There are two valleys between rocky reefs. This area is very good for beginners and is used for a majority of training.

Location
Again you must head for Marfa point but this
time the south
western point and the headland in front of the south jetty.
Access
Simply swim from the shore.
Conditions
A sheltered site but surges can be common
upon entry so
divers are encouraged to exit at the Marfa point entry.
Average depth 6m
Maximum depth 18m
Average visibility 18m
In this area on the approach to the dive you will have to overcome the sharp fossilized rock south of the car park. Also the rocky shoreline next to the harbour wall is rough but conditions are greatly improved once in the water.

Location
North of Qammieh Point
Access
Behind the Red Tower and park on the edge of the cliffs with steps and foothpath for over 500m. Entry is from the lagoon slipway.
Conditions
Can be rough in windy conditions but generally sheltered.
Average depth 6 to 40m
Maximum depth 45m
Average visibility 30m
At this site there are numerous tunnels and swimthroughs. Here you will find
golden zoanoids and various sponges while the Posidonia meadows are filled
with small wrasse. You will also find many arches and caves which make this
dive a highly recommended site.

Location
At the western end of Marfa off the southwestern point of Qammieh Point
Access
This site should be visited by boat
Conditions
This site can generate choppy strong currents so caution should be taken. Although generally the conditions are good.
Average depth 30m
Maximum depth beyond 70m
Average visibility 30m
This is a very recommended site with the reef that juts out southwest from
Qammieh point to a couple of small islands just offshore. Similar in feel
to Reqqa Point on Gozo this reef drops near vertically to the seabed 50m below
and then slopes off to cery deep water. You will find an ancient cave that
clearly shows signs of stalectites, now completely submerged on the southern
wall. Often there have been sitings of predatory fish such as barracuda, dentex,
amberjack and even Creaville jacks.

Location
This site can be located at the new pier in
Anchor bay opposite
the Popeye Village.
Access
Again access from the shore is recommended.
Conditions
The visibility can be very poor. However ,
the clarity improves near
the entrance to the cave.
Average depth 6m
Maximum depth 12m
Average visibility 12m
The dive apart from the cave is rather boring
but the cave alone
makes this dive worthwhile. On the right hand you will find a pitted
wall with thousands of small holes where fireworms, shrimps and sea urchins
live. You can get into the cave and explore. There are large numbers of brittle
starfish and cave shrimps, and in the spring the nudibranch is also found
here.
